National SweatFree Summit
From July 11 to 13, 2008, sixty activists from across the country gathered in Philadelphia for a weekend of training, strategy, and action at the National SweatFree Summit.|

The Summit coincided with the National Governors Association Centennial Meeting. Activists took advantage of this opportunity to bring our message of worker justice directly to our governors, in the same place at the same time.
Just a couple hours before the Summit kicked off, Governor Rendell committed to joining the Sweatfree Consortium! Here's Rendell's press release and resolution and here's ours.
The major highlight of the Summit was the Worker Rights Board Hearing, hosted by Philadelphia Jobs with Justice, and the National Rally to Stop Sweatshops that followed.
